Grade 3 Math Worksheets
Grade 3 is the multiplication year. The times tables to 10 × 10 have to become automatic here, and division arrives as their inverse, so the multiplication and division timed drills at this grade are the most consequential pages on the site. Around them sit three-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping, equivalent fractions, rounding, perimeter and area, and elapsed time.
If a student is struggling anywhere in grade 3 math, check the multiplication facts first. Most grade 3 errors that look like reasoning errors are a fact being counted out on fingers while the reasoning waits.
Topics taught in grade 3
Addition
three-digit column addition with regrouping in more than one place.
Subtraction
three-digit subtraction with regrouping, including across zeros.
Multiplication
multiplication facts to 10 × 10 and 12 × 12, and multiplying by multiples of ten.
Division
division facts with divisors to 10 and 12, and division as an unknown-factor problem.
Mixed Operations
all four operations, with two-step expressions introduced.
Place Value
rounding to the nearest ten and hundred, and four-digit expanded form.
Fractions
naming fractions of a whole, equivalent fractions, and comparing like denominators.
Measurement
perimeter and area of rectangles, elapsed time in minutes, and grams and milliliters.
Time & Money
reading a clock to the minute, elapsed time in minutes, making change, and adding money.
