Set A of this grade 3 missing number sheet holds 24 time and money problems on one printable page, with the answer key on the page behind it. Within that, operands run to two decimal places, so the decimal points have to be lined up rather than the right-hand digits and the blank moves between positions from problem to problem, so no single procedure clears the page. At grade 3, time and money is about reading a clock to the minute, elapsed time in minutes, making change, and adding money, and this sheet takes one slice of that. The skills on the page: elapsed time in minutes and adding and subtracting money. To finish it, a student has to keep the decimal points aligned, carry money notation through to the answer, and reason backwards from a result to a missing part. Sixteen different answers appear across the 24 problems, so a student cannot copy one result down the page.
About the missing number format
The 24 problems here move the unknown around, so a student solves for a missing part as often as for a result; problem 9, "7:00 + ___ minutes = 7:15" is one of them. How many coins, or how many minutes, reverses the counting and tests whether the values are understood.

The three sets come from the same generator with three different seeds: same skill, same layout, fresh numbers, and an answer key computed with the problems. Where Set A's problem 13 is "5:00 + ___ minutes = 6:15", Set B's is "11:00 + ___ minutes = 11:45".
How to use this worksheet
Work the 24 problems straight through, then check against the key together rather than handing it back marked; asking a grade 3 student to find their own time and money error teaches more than seeing it circled. Keep the key face down until all 24 problems are finished, then go through the misses together rather than only totalling the score.
One mistake to watch for
Coins are counted by number rather than by value: three dimes and two quarters is "5 cents". Watch problem 17 of this missing number — "7:00 + ___ minutes = 7:45" — for this one.
A coin is being treated as a unit of one.
Sort coins by type, count each type by its value, and write the running total.
