Grade 1 Math Worksheets

Grade 1 is the fluency year for addition and subtraction within 20, and everything else on these sheets orbits that: unknown-addend equations that make the two operations one idea, tens and ones to 99, ten more and ten less, measuring in paper clips and reading a clock to the half hour.

Timed drills appear for the first time at this grade. Use them lightly — a timer is a way to see which facts are still being counted, not a competition — and lean on the missing-number sheets, which are where fact families are actually built.

Grade 1 math at a glance

Grade 1 covers six topics in 32 worksheets. By topic: addition (six sheets, numbers 1 to 91), subtraction (six sheets, numbers 1 to 96), mixed operations (five sheets, numbers 1 to 20), place value (five sheets, numbers 1 to 102), measurement (five sheets, numbers 1 to 30), and time and money (five sheets, numbers 0 to 225). The longest grade 1 sheet is the addition timed drill at 60 problems; the shortest is the time and money word problems at 8.
