What this worksheet covers
This is a 30-problem mixed review for grade 3 fractions, printed in black and white with the key on page two. Within that, several problems use mixed numbers, which have to be handled without dropping the whole-number part and the numbers run as high as 16. Problems 11 and 21, for instance, are "6/6" and "4/4". The sheet sits inside Common Core 3.NF.1, in the grade 3 Number & Operations—Fractions strand.

Grade 3 fractions means naming fractions of a whole, equivalent fractions, and comparing like denominators. Specifically, the problems practise naming fractions of a whole, equivalent fractions, and comparing fractions with the same denominator. To finish it, a student has to work in fractional units and give the answer in lowest terms and reason backwards from a result to a missing part. Sixteen different answers appear across the 30 problems, so a student cannot copy one result down the page.
About the mixed review format
Mixed review changes the problem shape as the page goes on, so the 30 problems here cover five different skills rather than one procedure repeated; problem 11, "6/6" sits next to problems of a different kind. Comparison, equivalence and computation on one page stops the sheet from being a single procedure repeated.
Set A, Set B and Set C
All three sets are produced by the site's deterministic generator from a fixed seed, so they are the same every time the site is built and the answer keys are exact. Where Set A's problem 16 is "2/2", Set B's is "1/2 ___ 1/2".
How to use this worksheet
By grade 3 a student should take all 30 fractions problems in one sitting. If the page takes more than about fifteen minutes, the underlying facts are probably not automatic yet, and that is worth fixing before more fractions practice piles on. Ask the student to re-work one missed fractions problem from scratch on Set B rather than correcting it in place; the second attempt shows whether the method changed.
One mistake to watch for
A fraction of a set is answered with the number of pieces: 1/4 of 12 is "4". On this grade 3 mixed review, problem 21 ("4/4") is the kind of item where it shows.
The denominator is being reported instead of used.
Share the 12 objects into 4 equal groups physically and count one group.
