Measurement Drill Worksheets
Measurement puts arithmetic on real objects. Grade 1 measures in non-standard units and compares lengths; grade 2 adds and subtracts lengths and meets feet, inches, meters and centimeters; grade 3 finds perimeter and area of rectangles, works with elapsed time, grams and milliliters; grade 4 converts within a system and works with feet and inches together; grade 5 converts with decimals and finds the volume of rectangular prisms.
Every answer on these sheets carries its unit, and the answer key writes the unit too, because a number without its unit is only half an answer. Conversions use the customary and metric factors students are expected to know, stated in the answer key where the sheet does not give them.
Choose a grade
Measurement on this site runs from Grade 1 to grade 5: 25 worksheets across five grades and five formats (drill, timed drill, missing number, mixed review, and word problems), each in three versions, for 2,460 problems in all with every answer keyed. Five of the sheets were first published on MathSheetLab and are kept here as Set A of their cell, with Sets B and C derived from them.

The six formats
- Drill. Straight practice, 20-40 problems. A page of one conversion or one formula is where the factor or the formula becomes automatic.
- Timed Drill. Fact fluency, 50-100 problems, timer box on sheet. Unit conversions are facts — 12 inches, 100 centimeters, 60 minutes — and a timer shows which are known.
- Missing Number. Solve for the blank in any position. A missing side, dimension or unit count reverses the formula, which is the only way to check it is understood.
- Mixed Review. Assorted problem shapes from the operation. Perimeter, area, conversions and time on one page keep the student choosing the right formula for each problem.
- Word Problems. Story problems in real-world contexts. Gardens, ribbons, tanks and trips are the reason measurement is taught; the numbers finally mean something.
