The three sets come from the same generator with three different seeds: same skill, same layout, fresh numbers, and an answer key computed with the problems. Where Set A's problem 16 is "1/2 = ___/4", Set B's is "3/4 = ___/12".

How to use this worksheet

Work the 30 problems straight through, then check against the key together rather than handing it back marked; asking a grade 3 student to find their own fractions error teaches more than seeing it circled. Keep the key face down until all 30 problems are finished, then go through the misses together rather than only totaling the score.

One mistake to watch for

Equivalent fractions are made by adding the same number to top and bottom: 2/3 is rewritten as 3/4, which is not equivalent (4/6 is). Problem 10 on this grade 3 drill page, "2/3 = ___/9", is where to look for it.

Multiplying and adding are being confused in the renaming step.

Draw the fraction, cut every piece in half, and count; the pieces double, they do not gain one.
