Set A of this grade 3 mixed review sheet holds 30 subtraction problems on one printable page, with the answer key on the page behind it. 22 of the 30 column problems need regrouping and the rest do not, so the two cases are mixed rather than blocked and the numbers run as high as 5,000. About the mixed review format
The 30 problems are deliberately assorted — problem 11, "300 - 15" is followed by something of another shape — so the student has to read each one rather than run the last method again. Mixing regrouping and non-regrouping problems stops a student from borrowing on every problem out of habit.

The three sets come from the same generator with three different seeds: same skill, same layout, fresh numbers, and an answer key computed with the problems. Where Set A's problem 16 is "36 - 17", Set B's is "976 - 778".
How to use this worksheet
Give this mixed review uninterrupted. At grade 3, subtraction is where procedure and recall have to run at the same time, and 30 problems done in fragments hide which of the two is the problem. Keep the key face down until all 30 problems are finished, then go through the misses together rather than only totalling the score.
One mistake to watch for
Regrouped digits are written but the original digit is not crossed out, so it gets used twice. On this grade 3 mixed review, problem 21 ("571 - 566") is the kind of item where it shows.
The notation is being performed without the meaning attached to it.
Insist on the cross-out as part of the trade, and check work by adding the answer back to the subtrahend.
