The whole job in a mixed word problem is choosing the operation, which is exactly what a one-operation page never asks.

How to use this worksheet
Sit alongside for this mixed operations word problems. At grade 1 the useful information is not the score but which of the twelve problems drew a pause. Keep the key face down until all twelve problems are finished, then go through the misses together rather than only totalling the score.
One mistake to watch for
Fact families are memorised as four unrelated facts. Problem 9 on this grade 1 word problems page, "Share 12 shells equally among 4 buckets. How many does each…", is where to look for it.
The part-part-whole relationship behind them has not been made visible.
Draw one bar model and write all four equations from it, so the family is one picture with four sentences.
