Grade 1 Measurement Worksheets

The grade 1 measurement sequence is about measuring length in non-standard units, comparing lengths, and adding lengths within 20, and these five sheets cover it format by format, three versions each.

The drill has 24 problems, story problems (problem 9: "A toy car measures 9 paper clips long. Each paper clip is 1…"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 30 (problem 21: "13 cm ___ 15 cm"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 20 (problem 9: "7 cm + ___ cm = 14 cm"). The mixed review has 24 problems, story problems (problem 9: "A pencil measures 10 paper clips long. Each paper clip is 1…"). The word problems has 8 problems, story problems (problem 3: "Uma's pencil is 4 paper clips long. A crayon is 8 paper…").

Across the five sheets the generator draws on measuring length in non-standard units, comparing lengths, adding and subtracting lengths within 20, and longer or shorter. The pages are tagged to Common Core 1.MD.2 and 1.MD.1, and each tag links to the standards index.

Measurement continues at grade 2, grade 3, grade 4, and grade 5, so a student who finishes the grade 1 sheets can move up without changing topic.

Treat the three versions of each grade 1 measurement sheet as a week: Set A on Monday to find the gaps, Set B midweek after the fix, Set C at the end as the check that it held — 140 problems per set across the row.
