Grade 2 Measurement Worksheets

At grade 2, measurement means adding and subtracting lengths, feet and inches, meters and centimeters, and time to the half hour. Below are five worksheets on it — one per format — each in Set A, B and C with keys.

The drill has 24 problems, numbers to 41 (problem 9: "39 ft + 32 ft"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 240 (problem 21: "8:00 plus 150 minutes"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 12,000 (problem 9: "___ pt = 16 cups"). The mixed review has 24 problems, numbers to 240 (problem 9: "5:00 plus 150 minutes"). The word problems has 22 problems, story problems (problem 8: "A caterpillar crawled 42 centimeters up a branch. Then it…").

Across the five sheets the generator draws on adding and subtracting lengths, feet and inches, meters and centimeters, comparing lengths, time to the hour and half hour, and missing lengths. The pages are tagged to Common Core 2.MD.5 and 2.MD.3, and each tag links to the standards index.

If this level is not landing, step to grade 1 measurement, where the focus is measuring length in non-standard units, comparing lengths, and adding lengths within 20; if it is too easy, grade 3 moves on to perimeter and area of rectangles, elapsed time in minutes, and grams and milliliters.

Treat the three versions of each grade 2 measurement sheet as a week: Set A on Monday to find the gaps, Set B midweek after the fix, Set C at the end as the check that it held — 154 problems per set across the row.
