How to use this worksheet
Have the student estimate before computing, then compare. At grade 6 an division answer that is wildly off should announce itself, and building that reflex matters as much as the 24 answers. Print Set B of this division missing number before writing on Set A; the same skill worked twice a week apart tells you far more than once.
One mistake to watch for
The first digit of the quotient is placed over the wrong digit of the dividend. On this grade 6 missing number, problem 17 ("17756 ÷ 46 = ___") is the kind of item where it shows.
The student has not asked how many times the divisor goes into the leading part of the dividend.
Underline the smallest leading part of the dividend the divisor fits into before writing anything.
