The drill has 30 problems, numbers to 98 (problem 11: "71 × 5"). The timed drill has 72 problems, numbers to 500 (problem 25: "6 × 10"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 656 (problem 9: "___ × 4 = 132"). The mixed review has 30 problems, numbers to 839 (problem 11: "2 × 50"). The word problems has 22 problems, story problems (problem 8: "A bakery made 56 muffins on Saturday. That was 7 times as…"). The vertical format has 18 problems, numbers to 95 (problem 7: "91 × 2").
Across the six sheets the generator draws on two-digit by one-digit multiplication, two-digit by two-digit multiplication, multiplication facts to 12 × 12, multiplying by multiples of 10 and 100, and three-digit by one-digit multiplication. If this level is not landing, step to grade 3 multiplication, where the focus is multiplication facts to 10 × 10 and 12 × 12, and multiplying by multiples of ten; if it is too easy, grade 5 moves on to three-digit by two-digit multiplication and multiplying by powers of ten.
Treat the three versions of each grade 4 multiplication sheet as a week: Set A on Monday to find the gaps, Set B midweek after the fix, Set C at the end as the check that it held — 196 problems per set across the row.
