Grade 5 Multiplication Worksheets
The grade 5 multiplication sequence is about three-digit by two-digit multiplication and multiplying by powers of ten, and these six sheets cover it format by format, three versions each.
What the grade 5 multiplication sheets cover
Grade 5 multiplication comes in six formats (problem counts in brackets): drill (30, straight practice), timed drill (72, timed fluency), missing number (24, find the blank), mixed review (30, mixed shapes), word problems (10, stories), and vertical format (16, column work). Set A uses numbers from 1 to 44,676 and 24 fill-in blanks. Problem types: three-digit by two-digit multiplication, multiplying by powers of ten, and multiplication facts to 12 × 12, plus two more. The drill has 30 problems, numbers to 988 (problem 11: "988 × 37"). The timed drill has 72 problems, numbers to 96 (problem 25: "25 × 10^1"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 44,676 (problem 9: "152 × ___ = 10032"). The mixed review has 30 problems, numbers to 9,599 (problem 11: "94 × 30"). The word problems has 10 problems, story problems (problem 4: "A theater has 42 rows with 7 seats in each row. How many…"). The vertical format has 16 problems, numbers to 9,948 (problem 6: "8187 × 3").

Estimate first
Before working a multiplication exactly, round each number to its first digit and multiply the rounded numbers in your head. Then work the exact answer and compare the two. If they are far apart, or have a different number of digits, the most likely cause is a place-value slip, such as a dropped zero or a partial product written one column over, and it is worth a second look before moving on.
From the Grade 5 Multiplication Drill sheet: 499 × 54 rounds to 500 × 50, an estimate of 25,000. The exact answer, 26,946, is 1,946 away from the estimate and has the same number of digits, so it passes the check.
