Grade 2 Multiplication Worksheets

At grade 2, multiplication means equal groups, arrays as repeated addition, and skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. Below are six worksheets on it — one per format — each in Set A, B and C with keys.

The drill has 16 problems, small numbers throughout (problem 6: "An array has 3 rows of 3. How many in all? 3 + 3 + 3"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 12 (problem 21: "Double 8"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 70 (problem 9: "2 × 3 = ___"). The mixed review has 22 problems, small numbers throughout (problem 8: "1 row of 5: 5"). The word problems has 8 problems, story problems (problem 3: "Each notebook has 4 pages. How many pages are in 6…"). The vertical format has 20 problems, numbers to 10 (problem 7: "5 × 3").

Across the six sheets the generator draws on equal groups, multiplying by 2, 3, 5 and 10, and doubling numbers to 12. The pages are tagged to Common Core 2.OA.4, and each tag links to the standards index.

If this level is not landing, step to grade 2 multiplication, where the focus is equal groups, arrays as repeated addition, and skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s; if it is too easy, grade 3 moves on to multiplication facts to 10 × 10 and 12 × 12, and multiplying by multiples of ten.

Treat the three versions of each grade 2 multiplication sheet as a week: Set A on Monday to find the gaps, Set B midweek after the fix, Set C at the end as the check that it held — 150 problems per set across the row.
