What the grade 2 fractions sheets cover
Grade 2 fractions comes in five formats (problem counts in brackets): drill (12, straight practice), timed drill (60, timed fluency), missing number (24, find the blank), mixed review (24, mixed shapes), and word problems (14, stories). Set A uses numbers from 1 to 20, 61 with fractions, and 29 fill-in blanks. Problem types: naming halves, thirds and fourths, half and a quarter of a set, and which fraction is bigger, plus two more. The drill has 12 problems, story problems (problem 5: "A ribbon is folded into 2 equal parts. What is one part…"). The timed drill has 60 problems, story problems (problem 21: "A rectangle is cut into 2 equal parts and 1 part is shaded.…"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 10 (problem 9: "2/4 + ___/4 = 1"). The mixed review has 24 problems, story problems (problem 9: "Which is the bigger piece, 1/3 or 1/4?"). The word problems has 14 problems, story problems (problem 5: "A cake is cut into 2 equal parts. What fraction is 1 part?").
