What this worksheet covers
24 fractions problems fill this mixed review page; problem 9 asks "Which is the bigger piece, 1/3 or 1/4?", and the sheet stays at that level throughout. What makes this set particular: every problem is set in a short situation, so the first decision is which operation it calls for and several problems use mixed numbers, which have to be handled without dropping the whole-number part. Further down, problem 17 asks "1/2 of 20". The skill maps to Common Core 2.G.3.

About the mixed review format
The 24 problems are deliberately assorted — problem 9, "Which is the bigger piece, 1/3 or 1/4?" is followed by something of another shape — so the student has to read each one rather than run the last method again. Comparison, equivalence and computation on one page stops the sheet from being a single procedure repeated.
Set A, Set B and Set C
The three sets come from the same generator with three different seeds: same skill, same layout, fresh numbers, and an answer key computed with the problems. Where Set A's problem 13 is "1/4 + ___/4 = 1", Set B's is "1/4 of 8".
How to use this worksheet
Grade 2 attention runs short, so split these 24 fractions problems over two or three sittings rather than pushing through in one; a number line or counters within reach is a strategy, not a failure. If more than a third of the 24 problems come back wrong, stop and step back a grade in fractions rather than assigning Set B.
One mistake to watch for
A larger denominator is taken to mean a larger fraction: 1/8 is judged bigger than 1/4. Problem 17 on this grade 2 mixed review page, "1/2 of 20", is where to look for it.
Whole-number thinking — eight is more than four — is being applied to the size of the pieces.
Fold a strip into fourths and another into eighths and compare one piece of each; more pieces means smaller pieces.
