What this worksheet covers
This is a 30-problem mixed review for grade 6 ratios and proportions, printed in black and white with the key on page two. Within that, every problem is set in a short situation, so the first decision is which operation it calls for and operands run to two decimal places, so the decimal points have to be lined up rather than the right-hand digits. Problems 11 and 21, for instance, are "Write the ratio 7:25 as a percent." and "95 pages in 5 days = ___ pages per day". Common Core 6.RP.3 is the slot this page fills.

Set A, Set B and Set C
All three sets are produced by the site's deterministic generator from a fixed seed, so they are the same every time the site is built and the answer keys are exact. Where Set A's problem 16 is "In a class of 7 students, 6 are boys. What is the ratio of…", Set B's is "Write the ratio 3:10 as a percent.".
How to use this worksheet
Have the student estimate before computing, then compare. At grade 6 an ratios and proportions answer that is wildly off should announce itself, and building that reflex matters as much as the 30 answers. Mark the 30 problems the same day using the key — an error caught immediately is a correction, and one caught next week is a habit.
One mistake to watch for
A unit rate is computed the wrong way round: 180 miles in 3 hours becomes 1/60 mile per hour. Watch problem 21 of this mixed review — "95 pages in 5 days = ___ pages per day" — for this one.
The student divided the smaller number by the larger without asking what "per" refers to.
Say the rate in words first — miles per one hour — so the division is set up from the sentence.
