What this worksheet covers
This is a 24-problem missing number for grade 4 decimals, printed in black and white with the key on page two. Several problems use mixed numbers, which have to be handled without dropping the whole-number part and operands run to two decimal places, so the decimal points have to be lined up rather than the right-hand digits. Problems 9 and 17, for instance, are "2/10 = ___/100" and "3.2 + 7.8 = ___". Common Core 4.NF.6 is the slot this page fills.

About the missing number format
Each of the 24 problems has a blank, and the blank is not always at the end: problem 9, "2/10 = ___/100" puts it where the student has to reason backwards. A missing addend or factor with decimals asks the student to undo an operation, which exposes place-value gaps that forward computation hides.
Set A, Set B and Set C
All three sets are produced by the site's deterministic generator from a fixed seed, so they are the same every time the site is built and the answer keys are exact. Where Set A's problem 13 is "0.30 = ___/100", Set B's is "0.87 = ___/100".
How to use this worksheet
By grade 4 a student should take all 24 decimals problems in one sitting. If the page takes more than about fifteen minutes, the underlying facts are probably not automatic yet, and that is worth fixing before more decimals practice piles on. Use the key as a check, not as a grade; none of the 24 problems needs a score attached to be useful.
One mistake to watch for
Decimals are aligned to the right: 3.5 + 0.42 = 3.92. Watch problem 17 of this missing number — "3.2 + 7.8 = ___" — for this one.
The right-alignment habit from whole numbers is being applied to a notation where the point, not the right edge, fixes the value.
Write in the placeholder zero (3.50) before adding; aligning the points then aligns everything else.
