Grade 6 Mixed Operations Worksheets

The drill has 30 problems, two of them regrouping (problem 11: "(2 + 9)²"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 144 (problem 21: "120 ÷ 10"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 1,543 (problem 9: "95 ÷ ___ = 19"). The mixed review has 30 problems, three of them regrouping (problem 11: "3 × 4 - 97"). Across the five sheets the generator draws on order of operations with exponents, all four operations with multi-digit numbers, mixed multiplication and division facts, expressions with parentheses, and two-step expressions. If this level is not landing, step to grade 5 mixed operations, where the focus is order of operations with parentheses and multi-digit computation; if it is too easy, grade 6 moves on to order of operations with exponents and multi-digit work in all four operations.

Start with the grade 6 mixed operations drill to see whether the method is in place, use the timed drill only once accuracy is there, and save the word problems for the point where the student can compute without thinking about it.
