Grade 6 Percents Worksheets
Grade 6 percents covers percent of a number, finding the percent, and finding the whole. The five sheets below take that work in five formats, and each comes in three versions with its own answer key.
Grade 6 Percents Drill
Straight practice, 20-40 problems.
Grade 6 Percents Timed Drill
Fact fluency, 50-100 problems, timer box on sheet.
Grade 6 Percents Missing Number
Solve for the blank in any position.
Grade 6 Percents Mixed Review
Assorted problem shapes from the operation.
Grade 6 Percents Word Problems
Story problems in real-world contexts.
The drill has 30 problems, numbers to 500 (problem 11: "5% of 500"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 500 (problem 21: "10% of 100"). The missing number has 24 problems, story problems (problem 9: "10% of ___ = 10"). The mixed review has 30 problems, numbers to 300 (problem 11: "5 is what percent of 100?"). The word problems has 10 problems, story problems (problem 4: "A cyclist rides 72 miles in 4 hours. At this same unit…").
Across the five sheets the generator draws on percent of a number, finding what percent one number is of another, percents, fractions and decimals, and finding the whole from a percent. The pages are tagged to Common Core 6.RP.3, and each tag links to the standards index.
If this level is not landing, step to grade 5 percents, where the focus is percents as fractions and decimals, and benchmark percents of a number; if it is too easy, grade 7 moves on to tax, tip and discount, percent increase and decrease, and harder percents of a number.
Start with the grade 6 percents drill to see whether the method is in place, use the timed drill only once accuracy is there, and save the word problems for the point where the student can compute without thinking about it.
