Skills practised
At grade 7, ratios and proportions is about solving proportions, unit rates, the constant of proportionality and scale drawings, and this sheet takes one slice of that. Specifically, the problems practise solving proportions and equivalent ratios. Concretely, the sheet tests whether a student can work in fractional units and give the answer in lowest terms and reason backwards from a result to a missing part. Nineteen different answers appear across the 24 problems, so a student cannot copy one result down the page.
About the missing number format
The 24 problems here move the unknown around, so a student solves for a missing part as often as for a result; problem 9, "Solve: x/9 = 28/36" is one of them. A missing term in a ratio or proportion is the format's natural home; the whole topic is finding the missing term.

The three sets come from the same generator with three different seeds: same skill, same layout, fresh numbers, and an answer key computed with the problems. Where Set A's problem 13 is "Solve: 5/12 = x/24", Set B's is "Solve: 7/10 = 56/x".
How to use this worksheet
Expect twenty minutes or so of real attention for 24 problems. At grade 7, ratios and proportions rewards care over speed — a rushed missing number gets the arithmetic right and the signs or units wrong. Ask the student to re-work one missed ratios and proportions problem from scratch on Set B rather than correcting it in place; the second attempt shows whether the method changed.
One mistake to watch for
Equivalent ratios are made by adding the same number to both terms. On this grade 7 missing number, problem 17 ("Solve: 12/1 = 108/x") is the kind of item where it shows.
Scaling and adding are being confused, as with fractions.
Build a ratio table by multiplying across a row and check that the columns keep the same relationship.
