Grade 8 Ratios & Proportions Worksheets

Grade 8 ratios and proportions covers proportional relationships and slope, solving proportions, similar figures and scale factors. The five sheets below take that work in five formats, and each comes in three versions with its own answer key.

The drill has 30 problems, story problems (problem 11: "If y is proportional to x and y = 12 when x = 6, what is y…"). The timed drill has 60 problems, numbers to 605 (problem 21: "7:3 = 28:___"). The missing number has 24 problems, numbers to 56 (problem 9: "Solve: x/3 = 44/12"). The mixed review has 30 problems, story problems (problem 11: "$418.00 for 11 items = $___ per item"). The word problems has 10 problems, story problems (problem 4: "A recipe uses 7 cups of flour for every 3 cups of sugar.…").

Across the five sheets the generator draws on proportional relationships and slope, solving proportions, unit rates, equivalent ratios, similar figures, and scale factors. The pages are tagged to Common Core 8.EE.5 and 7.RP.2, and each tag links to the standards index.

If this level is not landing, step to grade 7 ratios and proportions, where the focus is solving proportions, unit rates, the constant of proportionality and scale drawings; if it is too easy, grade 8 moves on to proportional relationships and slope, solving proportions, similar figures and scale factors.

Treat the three versions of each grade 8 ratios and proportions sheet as a week: Set A on Monday to find the gaps, Set B midweek after the fix, Set C at the end as the check that it held — 154 problems per set across the row.
